Catherine's Cafe Plage

Tucked into the corner of English Harbour — Antigua's celebrated sailor's paradise along the island's southern peninsula — this much-loved beach restaurant brings a refined slice of Parisian café culture directly to the sand at stunning Pigeon Point Beach. Surrounded by lush greenery, mesmerising neem trees and orchids, the setting is as beautiful as the food, making it an idyllic spot for long, leisurely lunches or candlelit dinners with the harbour as a backdrop.

Cuisine and kitchen

The kitchen is led by a classically French-trained Head Chef whose menus pay homage to the tradition of dining sur la plage. The approach is modern, healthy and stylish, with dishes built around the freshest native produce sourced from local farmers. Menus are designed to suit the relaxed coastal setting while delivering the quality and finesse that French-trained cooking demands. A dedicated beach menu — designed for sharing — is available from the luxurious daybeds sprawled across the sand, making it possible to enjoy exceptional food without ever leaving the shoreline.

Drinks

Bespoke cocktails and a popular gin and tonic menu complement the food beautifully, and a thoughtful selection of fine wines rounds out the beverage offering. Catherine's Café occupies a refined-yet-chic, sun-dappled setting that effortlessly balances barefoot beach ease with genuine culinary ambition. Awards and recognition

Since Rocks Group took ownership in 2017, the café has earned a series of international accolades, including placement in the top ten of the USA Today 10 Best Beach Bars in the Caribbean Region and fourth place in Caribbean Journal's Best Beach Bars in the Caribbean for 2020, as well as a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award for 2020.

Opening hours and reservations

Catherine's Café is open Saturdays through Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Wednesdays through Fridays from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm, with dinner service available on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.
