About

First published in 1994 by marine photographer Alexis Andrews, the Antigua & Barbuda Marine Guide has grown into the definitive resource for yachts arriving in Antiguan waters. Distributed directly to vessels at anchor, to marinas, chandleries, Customs, Immigration and Port Authority offices, and at the island's most significant yachting events, the guide is designed to travel with the yacht — offering a shelf life of well over a year and reaching crew and charter guests alike throughout the season.

Regatta and charter event distribution

From the outset, distribution was targeted at the events that draw the highest concentration of high-value yachts to Antigua. The Marine Guide is distributed at the Charter Yacht Show, Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta, Antigua Sailing Week, the RORC Caribbean 600 and the Superyacht Regatta — placing it in the hands of owners, captains, crew and charter guests at precisely the moments they are planning their time in port. Distribution has grown from an initial 10,000 copies to more than 27,000, reaching international yachting centres including Newport, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, London, Monaco and Genoa.

What the guide covers for yachting visitors

For yachts arriving in Antigua, the Marine Guide provides practical intelligence on the full range of needs a vessel and its crew encounter in port:

Anchorages and harbours — the best spots to anchor around Antigua & Barbuda

Marina services — yachting and marine service providers, chandleries and repair facilities

Clearance and entry procedures — essential information for arriving vessels

Provisioning and shopping — where to source supplies, clothing and equipment ashore

Dining and bars — restaurants and waterfront venues popular with the yachting community

Car hire, property and accommodation — services relevant to crew and guests spending time ashore

Reaching the charter market

Antigua sits at the centre of the Caribbean charter market, and the yachting sector contributes an estimated 25–30% to Antigua & Barbuda's GDP. Many of the yachts that base themselves in the Caribbean between November and May are chartered at rates of thousands of dollars per day, and their crews and guests represent a high-spending visitor segment. The Antigua & Barbuda Marine Guide is specifically targeted at this audience, making it a valued medium for businesses — from chandleries and repair yards to restaurants, jewellers and real estate agents — seeking to reach the yachting community.

The guide is also accessible online at antiguamarineguide.com, where an up-to-date digital edition is available alongside the printed publication.
