Nestled within the protected marina at Jolly Harbour on Antigua's west coast, this welcoming yacht club serves the island's sail and power boat community with a programme of regular racing, social gatherings, and a growing membership open to anyone with a passion for being on the water.
Weekly racing and on-the-water activity
Informal Saturday sailing races take place every week, run as part of a series in which participants receive a local Performance Handicap Rating — a practical measure of individual progress that keeps racing accessible and competitive for all skill levels. Crew looking to get aboard a yacht are warmly encouraged to make contact; the club actively helps match willing hands with boat owners in need of crew.
Alongside the sail fleet, the club has established a dedicated power boat section with its own Fleet Captain, broadening its presence on the water and reflecting the diversity of Jolly Harbour's marina community.
Jolly Harbour marina location
Jolly Harbour provides a well-sheltered anchorage and full marina facilities on the western side of Antigua, making it a natural base for both cruising yachts and locally based boat owners. The yacht club's informal social hub at the West Point Marina Bar places members at the heart of the marina, where Thursday evening Happy Hour has become a regular fixture on the local yachting calendar.
Membership
Annual membership is available at a modest EC$150 subscription, covering both sail and power boat enthusiasts — as well as those who simply enjoy the social side of the yachting world. Members receive the right to fly the JHYC burgee and access to all club racing and social events throughout the season.
