The Fleet
Three vessels make up the current fleet: the original Barbuda Express catamaran, a wave-piercing design that delivers passenger comfort at high speed in nearly all weather conditions, alongside the Typhoon Express and Leeward Express — both monohulls capable of carrying passengers and large cargo. The vessels are used interchangeably depending on conditions and load, ensuring a consistent and safe crossing regardless of which boat is rostered.

For yachting visitors or charter operators based in Falmouth Harbour, English Harbour, or Jolly Harbour, the Barbuda Express offers a practical alternative to the open-water passage to Barbuda — particularly useful for crew or guests who wish to day-trip to the island without committing a vessel to the crossing. The Jolly Harbour departure point makes the service especially convenient for yachts at anchor or on a berth on the western side of Antigua.
The sea passage between the two islands traverses the Codrington Channel, and while the wave-piercing hulls are designed for comfort at speed, the captains monitor conditions continuously and will adjust or cancel sailings when safety requires — a reassurance both to individual passengers and to charter operators planning excursions around the schedule.
