Rooted in the historic maritime heart of English Harbour, Nicholson Yacht Charters and Services holds a unique place in Caribbean yachting history. It was here, in 1949, that Commander V.E.B. Nicholson sailed his schooner Mollyhawk into English Harbour and founded what became the Caribbean's first dedicated charter yacht agency — an extraordinary legacy that the company continues to honour more than seven decades later.
English Harbour: a natural home for serious yachting
English Harbour and neighbouring Falmouth Harbour are widely regarded as the yachting capital of the Eastern Caribbean. The deep, sheltered anchorages, world-class marina infrastructure and proximity to the classic trade-wind sailing routes make this corner of Antigua the ideal base from which to plan a crewed charter. Nicholson's offices here place the agency at the centre of the Caribbean charter yacht world, with direct, day-to-day knowledge of the yachts, captains and conditions in the region.
Charter fleet and destinations
The agency represents a broad fleet of crewed charter yachts — sailing yachts, catamarans (both sail and power), motor yachts and gulet-style vessels — suited to a wide range of itineraries and group sizes. Principal cruising grounds include the Caribbean islands, the British and U.S. Virgin Islands, the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos, as well as destinations further afield across the Mediterranean, the Americas and the Pacific. Day charters and short-term Antigua-based charters are also available for those already in port.
